The Big Story layout displays at the top the most recent post assigned Post Prominence of Homepage Featured with:
- a large (1170px wide) Featured Image from the post
- Title and Excerpt from the post overlaid on the Featured Image

An example:
Posts below the most recent Homepage Featured post will also display with a large Featured Image (if they too are assigned Post Prominence of Homepage Featured).
With this layout setting, a Post Prominence of Homepage Top Story has no effect on how a post is displayed.
Any posts on this homepage not assigned a Post Prominence of Homepage Featured will display with a thumbnail Featured Image floated to the right:
Sticky Posts
Posts assigned a visibility of Sticky will display under the top Homepage Featured post with a large thumbnail Featured Image floated to the left, a Title, and an Excerpt.
If the post has been assigned to a Series, it will also display links to more posts in the same Series:
Note that in order to stick a post to the top, you must check the box to “Show sticky posts box on homepage?” and set at least one post as sticky.
Sidebar
The One Big Story with Full-Width Image layout has no homepage sidebar. You’ll still see a Main Sidebar widget area in Appearance > Widgets, but it won’t display on the homepage.
